Copenhagen Architecture Festival x 2021
The Copenhagen Architecture Festival (CAFx) is back.
Born in 2014, CAFx aims to rethink the representation of architecture and engage a large audience in the discussion on the impact of architecture on our daily life. In response to the most pressing global issues of the present day, this year’s theme “Care Landscapes” focuses on the relationship between health and the built environment, spatial expressions of equality / inequality within communities and the role of architecture in or against collapsing ecology.
We invite you to explore issues of care, empathy and sustainability in architecture and urban space through a diverse range of events including film screenings, debates, exhibitions, seminars, performances artistic and guided city walks. This rich public program includes the world premiere of the documentary Another Kind of Knowledge on Danish architect Dorte Mandrup, a special focus on David Lynch through an exhibition, selected dinners and films, and a day dedicated to gender and culture. architecture at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, among many other initiatives.
While the practice of designers, architects and town planners evolves to address socio-political issues of identity, conviviality and urban change, “Care landscapes” contributes to an evolution towards a greater sensitivity to questions of interconnection, association and interdependence.
Scandinavia’s largest annual architecture festival and the world’s largest architectural film festival will take place in Copenhagen and Aarhus from October 7-17, 2021.
